Why We Fundraise

First in foremost, we believe in our students and what it means to invest in the future. We believe that an education from Northwoods forms authentic Christian leaders for tomorrow.

By fundraising, this allows us to continue to assist with campus development, improving the quality of our educational programs, maintain our facilities, provide tuition assistance and so much more, while keeping our tuition affordable. Participation by all families are encouraged so that we may qualify for school grants. There may be other events and activities approved by the school's administration, organized by the parents association, athletic club or student council, in which parents will be asked to participate. The proceeds from these events fund the operation of specific clubs, events or items not otherwise allocated in the budget.

Ways to Give

There are many opportunities to support our school.

Annual Fund Drive
The Annual Fund Drive is the appeal Northwoods Catholic School makes each year to alumni, parents, and friends for unrestricted funds which can be used to meet the School's most pressing needs - including faculty recruitment and retention, financial aid and scholarships, and facilities maintenance. AFD donations also go toward supporting the school's day to day operating expenses. Our goal is 100% participation by all families, faculty/staff and board members with a total financial goal of $125,000. We have already received 100% participation from our faculty/staff, along with several family commitments. Gifts may paid by check, securities, automatic bank draft, credit card, or online. Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts are always needed and greatly appreciated. General donations allow us to use funds in the area of the current greatest need.

Company Matching
Many corporations recognize and are willing to support private education through a matching gift program. Your employer can advise you if your company will match your gift - often as much as two or three times your contribution. Some employers that offer company matching are listed below. We encourage you to ask your company's personnel office for matching gift instructions and/or a form. Fill out the form and simply mail it, along with your gift, to Northwoods Catholic School's business office.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts, such as bequests, trusts, life insurance, assignment of a beneficial interest, endowments, life estates, or real property are wonderful ways to give in the future.
Securities
Northwoods accepts the donation of appreciated securities which may offer the donor tax advantages.

Memorials and Honorariums
Memorial and Honorarium gifts offer an opportunity to honor a relative, friend, or a business associate. Any special occasion: birth, anniversary, graduation, etc. is a time for remembering. During a bereavement period, friends often see this as an appropriate means to express sympathy. The following message in the obituary of the deceased provides an avenue to make a meaningful and thoughtful gift: "Memorial gifts may be made to: Northwoods Catholic School, 5500 FM 2920 Rd., Spring, Texas 77388."

With ever-changing IRS regulations, we recommend that you review your method of giving with your accountant, attorney, or other financial advisor. This will ensure that your plan will maximize the benefit to you and assist in fulfilling your intention.
