Athletics

The goal of integrally forming students extends to the sports programs offered at Northwoods. Our programs focus not only on the human side of an athlete's development, but also the spiritual, apostolic, and intellectual as well. This is achieved by encouraging fair play, discipline, self-confidence, and prayer. As an important part of our programs, all practices and games begin and end with prayer. Unlike many other athletic programs, our success is not measured solely on wins and losses on the field or court, but measured in how well our athletes are prepared for life.

The athletic programs at Northwoods Catholic School are age-appropriate and designed to give all students the opportunity to participate in school-sponsored activities regardless of ability level, challenging them to develop to their highest potential. Physical activity lifts the spirit, relaxes the mind and most of all brings enjoyment.

All of our teams promote sportsmanship, confidence, determination, and physical development. Student athletes are expected to excel in the classroom and on the field, to carry themselves with poise, and to honor their families and their school. Our parent coaches are carefully chosen to be mentors and role models for our student athletes. Students are able to play more than one sport depending on their interest and ability in elementary and middle school.

The athletic department has built a diversified sports program that includes a competitive array of sports in both the boys' and the girls' programs. Elementary school students can participate in recreational and intramural programs. Middle school athletes advance to more competitive teams.
