Lower School

The elementary years are a time of growth and development during which many lifelong habits and attitudes are established.  Whatever the subject or activity, nurturing a positive self-concept and cultivating a love and enthusiasm for learning are crucial during these formative years.  This is why, at Northwoods, special attention is paid to the unique talents, motivations and circumstances of each young student.  Small class sizes and a nurturing atmosphere allow for each child to receive a personalized education according to his or her strengths and needs.  A key component of this is our gender specific approach to education, which begins in Kindergarten.

In all subject areas, Northwoods Catholic School proclaims that truth is the foundation of knowledge and learning.  Our curriculum is balanced and academically challenging, preparing well-rounded individuals for the years ahead.

Beyond the school’s curriculum, students are encouraged to take initiative, pursue and develop their own talents and take an active role in their own formation.
